Don't put yourself under time pressure. Nobody manages to plan and buy a new kitchen in a matter of days or weeks. So give yourself time to gather enough information, ideas and inspiration.
Once defined, your wishes will guide you like a red thread through the entire planning process and will always assist you when making important decisions.
The following three points should help you to put your wishes on paper more easily and to organise them better:
Which kitchen style do you prefer?
Kitchen shows and manufacturer's catalogues offer plenty of inspiration for different styles. Check out our Kitchen Inspirator Pages for ideas from us.
Clear lines, a sophisticated, elegant look and high-quality materials, such as lacquer, glass and even concrete or stone, are the hallmarks of the design kitchen.
In classic kitchens, subtle colours and woods create a timeless, simple elegance. They feature a modular system that allows for an individual design.
Country style kitchens work particularly well in spacious rooms and open-plan kitchens.
Warm wood, curved shapes and cornices define the look.
Which colours, unit fronts, handles and walls do you prefer in your kitchen?
Colours and materials give your kitchen a personal touch. What mood do you want your kitchen to convey? Think about a colour scheme consisting of main colours and matching accent colours. Select materials that are both functional and particularly well-suited to the desired look.
What colours do you prefer for the walls, the worktop and the kitchen fronts? Glossy lacquer or matt? What material should they be made of? Or do you dream of a kitchen with handle less unit fronts?
The back wall of the kitchen is also an important design element: do you fancy a tiled back wall, one made of glass, wood or printed acrylic, or a rustic concrete or brick wall?
Which equipment do you prefer in your new kitchen?
The choice of kitchen equipment should be considered carefully in advance. Think about which features will increase your comfort in the kitchen. Choosing the perfect built-in appliances will make many routine tasks easier, and you can let your creativity run free.
Would you like an oven that can also steam cook? Or a quiet dishwasher? With both appliances installed high up for back-friendly operation? How about an induction hob that automatically detects the position of your pots and only heats those surfaces? Or a stylish extractor hood, unobtrusively integrated beneath the ceiling? Or do you prefer an induction hob with integrated extractor hood that perfectly combines both appliances into one? Both create more headroom when cooking and make your kitchen look more spacious. There's also a new large fridge that keeps fruit, vegetables, fish and meat fresh three times longer, saving you many a shopping trip.
A great idea when you have your hands full while cooking:
New automatic opening systems allow kitchen unit fronts, drawers and pull-outs to extend automatically and close silently after a light tap or press. Dishwashers with sensor door opening open with a light press on the unit front and are thus the perfect solution for handle less kitchens.
The Slide&Hide® oven door is also unique to NEFF: it can be completely retracted into a compartment below the oven. That way, the door is no longer in the way when you're seasoning, removing the finished dish or cleaning the interior.
Have you thought about flush-mounting the hob and sink?
This creates a harmonious look and emphasises the homely character.
For a genuine feel-good atmosphere, the kitchen furniture industry offers modern, glare-free LED strips with individually adjustable colour and intensity. The warmer colour of cleverly positioned halogen lights provides variable room moods, such as breakfast or night light. NEFF cooker hoods with SoftLight® provide the right illumination for the hob with infinitely dimmable light. Wall extractor hoods with AmbientLight even offer you a choice of 31 colours, depending on the situation or mood. Dishwashers with EmotionLight immerse the contents in pleasant light when opened and are a real eye-catcher. Just like our ovens with NeffLight®, which illuminates the interior on all levels with glare-free, bright LED light.
Use the checklist to note down all your wishes and ideas for your dream kitchen.
