How to remove and clean the oven glass on a Slide&Hide oven door

Cleaning your oven glass can significantly improve the appearance of your oven and kitchen. Before you start to clean the glass, check that your oven is cold. You can choose to remove the oven door first if that would make the task easier for you, but you can also clean the exterior oven glass while the door is attached.

The video on the right shows in detail how you can remove and clean your Slide&Hide oven door. Text-based instructions can be found below.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Open the oven door and check that it is cold.

2. Open the left and right hinge lock. To do this, push the hinge lock fully upwards on both sides with a screwdriver.

3. Slightly open the appliance door. Using a coin fully turn the left and right hand locks on the inside of the appliance at the bottom. For the left-hand lock, turn clockwise and for the right-hand lock turn anti-clockwise.

4. Begin to close the appliance door a little until you feel the locks engage. The door can no longer be closed at this point.

5. Lift the door handle slightly on the left and right hand side using both hands and pull the appliance door out and upwards.

6. Lay the appliance door, front side facing down on an even, soft and clean surface. You may choose to lay the appliance door on a towel to avoid scratches and damage.

7. To remove the glass, push on the left and right hand side of the appliance door until the inner glass is released on both sides.

8. Carefully lift the inner glass and remove it. You want to move it away from the door handle.

9. Hold the reflector and carefully lift it up and out and remove the second reflector in the same way as the first.

10. Push the intermediate panel downwards whilst carefully lifting the holder tab until it can be pulled out.

11. Lift the first and second intermediate panels from below and move them up and out.

12. Clean the glass door and reflectors on both sides with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth. Don’t use a glass scraper or sharp or abrasive cleaning aids or detergents and don’t clean or touch either of the LEDs. To clean the glass door we recommend using our tested and approved cleaning products. You can choose from a Cleaning Gel Spray, Cleaning Gel with an applicator brush head, Degreaser or Ceramic hob maintenance pack.

13. Dry and refit the reflectors and then the glass panel.

14. Firmly grip the oven door and place it in the left and right hand guide rollers simultaneously. Ensure that the appliance door does not tilt unevenly and that it’s properly fitted in place before letting go.

15. Turn the door handle upwards slightly so that the appliance door slides down fully.

16. Use a coin to release both locks on the appliance door. For the left lock turn anti-clockwise and for the right lock turn clockwise, then close the door.

17. Close the left and right hand hinge locks. To do this push the hinge locks downwards on both sides using a screwdriver.

18. Make sure they’re properly closed or the appliance door may detach itself.

Which cleaning products should you use?

For best results, we recommend using our tested and approved cleaning and care products which have been designed to eliminate grease and grime without the usage of harsh chemicals. Simply apply the cleaning detergent and wipe away with a wet cloth. For stubborn grease and stains, let the cleaner sit for at least 15 minutes before wiping.
