How to clean and remove the Slide&Hide oven door

Cleaning the Slide&Hide oven door is best done by detaching it from the appliance. This way, you can clean hard-to-reach areas and scrub out the grease which has built-up over time. A clean oven door ensures that your oven is presentable and safe to cook the most delicious meals. For professional cleaning results, we recommend using our Cleaning Gel Spray for ovens or our versatile Degreaser.

How to detach the glass Slide&Hide oven door

Place a towel on a hard surface, where you intend to leave the oven door once removed from the appliance. This will prevent the surface from scratching and will keep the door in place. We also recommend using safety gloves to protect your hands and thoroughly reading through your oven’s instruction manual before starting to remove the door as some steps vary per the model of your appliance.

Step-by-step guide

1. Open the oven door and check that it is cold.
2. Open the left and right hinge lock. To do this, push the hinge lock fully upwards on both sides with a screwdriver.
3. Open the oven door approximately 45°. Using a coin fully turn the left and right hand locks on the inside of the appliance at the bottom. For the left-hand lock, turn clockwise and for the right-hand lock turn anti-clockwise.
4. Begin to close the appliance door a little until you feel the locks engage. The door can no longer be closed at this point.
5. Lift the door handle slightly on the left and right hand side using both hands and pull the appliance door out and upwards.
6. Lay the appliance door, front side facing down on an even, soft and clean surface. You may choose to lay the appliance door on a towel to avoid scratches and damage.
